International leaders in IT embrace Australia’s newest digital marketing tool

Hannover Fair successfully introduced Australia’s first free to use public mobile phone battery charger, or ‘Chargebars’ as they are conventionally called, to their internationally renowned number 1 business IT event: CeBIT Australia.

Hosted at Sydney’s Exhibition and Conference Centre from 31st of May to 2nd of June, the three day event is the leading platform for local and international manufacturers, service providers, distributors, retailers and buyers of Information and Communications Technology to meet and talk business, in hope to discover ‘the next big thing’.

With a delegation of high level executives, CeBIT created a lounge style “charging area” to give attendees a space to take a break, recharge their phones and check in with the office. The three day event attracted over 30,000 attendees.

With a focus on technology, the innovative new service from Chargebar was popular with both attendees needing a battery charge, and those looking for the newest developments in business and marketing IT.

CeBIT Sponsorship Manager, Patrick Netrayana, was impressed with the popularity of the Chargebar lounge, commenting that “the chargebars certainly got a workout by attendees at CeBIT. It’s just a really great idea.”

Launched in 2010, Chargebar began with fixed installations in bars and clubs as a free service to patrons. The positive response that followed highlighted a demand for the service at events and festivals. After successful activation at Shopper Marketing LIVE conference in Melbourne last month, Chargebar is now looking to further expand its events business.
